TOUCHSTONE
"CONNECT"
Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur
a touch stone project intentionally to search for design ideas drawn from the site forces, potentials shall be carried out individually. Touchstone approach is the need to see the importance of site and placement of the new building. Student is required to “express” some design insights in making an object/model at a 200mm x 200mm base with a write-up of it, as a way of studying the site forces, leading to the design possibilities - Touchstone approach.
CONNECT
This touchstone project “CONNECT” is inspired by the hustle & bustle of the site. Observing the rapid traffic condition, varied skyline of the focus view and energetic human activity and movement of Wangsa Maju Site A, lines are expressed as connection among the neighbourhood. In plan view, lines intersecting the site as human intervention study whereas in elevation, lines dividing the sky as spatial texperiment.
